Meeting old friends
Glad to meet up with the Pong’s family today. It’s been a long while I haven’t chatted with my schoolmate + Jayceettes friend Edith. I paid a visit to her house with Hon Sec Betty. Edith’s bb is so cute. Her parents are very cute too. This visit ended up as a JC meeting in Edith’s house with Mr Pong, City JC's Past President, provided us lots of good comments and suggestions. It’s really a great day with support from a well-experienced JC. Also, it’s nice to enjoy the yummy New Year pudding 年糕 at Pong’s house.

Show support to my classmates
How can you imagine a person to attend all other chapters' inaugural ceremonies and to "appear" at several events a day? January is a busy month for all Chapter Presidents. It's also a month that focus has been laid on all of us. At this moment, I am still like dreaming and not getting used to being addressed as "P" or "會長" at all the JC events. One year is not long and to pass the twelve months meaningfully, wisdom is really needed. My dearest classmates, ADD OIL!

1st Joint Board Meeting in 2009
What a great time to gather together all the "senior management" of JCIHK at Sheung Wan. I've never been to this kind of meeting before... most NOM Officers and LOM Ps brought the notebooks with them to enjoy a paperless meeting. JC office was turned into an "Internet Cafe" this afternoon. The meeting was held in an efficient manner and I could even go for "afternoon dessert" at 滿記 even we had to attend VJC's Inaugural Ceremony afterwards.

HKJTT Inaugural Ceremony cum January Fellowship Gathering
An important day for me... I’ve taken a day off from my work. So busy in the morning to finalise all the paper work and registration list. All the things were in a rush as I was still working on the powerpoint presentation file by myself during the daytime. Went to JC Office to get some materials before I went to do the make up and set the hair in the afternoon. Then I returned to Chiuchow Garden Restaurant at Jardine House and time was just right for me to greet the guests at the reception and take photos with all my guests.
Thank you for your presence at our Inaugural Ceremony and January Fellowship Gathering. National President Senator Ken Wong and our Honorary Life President Senator Jennifer Yu hosted and witnessed the installation ceremony for myself and the Board of Directors. The event was completed successfully with the support of a lot of Jaycees and friends. It was a night that I earned so many praises from National President, Honorary Life President, Chapter Presidents, Jayceettes and JC fellows. The “show” was well done! We can really show our Shine Like Rubies character!!
Last but not least, the most touching part was to see my parents, my sister and my friends coming to support me. Thank you for your support and I love you all!

1st Board Meeting
It's a bit "chaotic" for us to start this meeting. We were all busy making photocopying and printing documents, downloading files from PC... before the meeting. This is my first time to chair the board meeting. We started off a bit late but we had a lot of fruitful discussions.

NCDD Kathy Woo's wedding
It was the wedding of our member (also National Community Development Director) Kathy Woo today. She picked Gold Coast Hotel to be the wedding venue. Again it’s like a JC function as she’s marrying Leo, Past President of Lion Rock Junior Chamber. The weather was cold but love and sweetness of this couple made us feel the warmth. Kathy and Leo once again demonstrate the magic, the 5th opportunity within JC. Indeed, they knew each other through the participation in World Congress. Fellow Jayceettes and Jaycees, remember to register for the international conference and congress this year and you will never know what you will gain from there =)

***Shine Shine Shine***
Such a busy day starting with singing choir at church early in the morning, going back home to get my gown for the evening, attending Islanders’ inauguration, arriving at BP International to get ready for the Ball and at the end, enjoying myself at the Inaugural Ball.
Before the inaugural ceremony, I also performed on the stage with other JC Choir members. Interesting that we all dressed up in our ball gowns and tuxedos.
During the installation session, I really felt like being a winner at a Beauty Contest while National President hanged a president chain on my neck. Wow!
It’s always a valuable chance to meet so many JCs especially I was not really active among the JCs in the past few years. The NOM’s inaugural ball signifies the start of our JC dreams and “big plans”. Sure, we need your support!

A dinner with surprises
I attended the Reception Dinner for World President and World Vice President with Winnie Tsang, our chapter’s VP, External Affairs. Thought it would be an ordinary dinner at a very ordinary hotel. Yet, everything turned out to be great. Have you ever had abalone and big prawns at a JC function? Right, see the pictures and you will know what I mean.

2009 Board of Directors
New Year Greetings from President Jennifer
Happy New Year!
It is my honour to deliver the new year greeting message as the President of the Hong Kong Jayceettes Junior Chamber. Wish everyone a joyful year of 2009.
I am sure this year will be a year full of challenges in the midst of the current gloomy market condition. Yet, with passion and love, matters can be as positive as we think.
My Board of Directors will try our best to serve our beloved chapter and the community wholeheartedly, demonstrating the "shine like rubies" spirit our team embraces.
See you all in Jayceettes’ upcoming gatherings! Let's Shine Like Rubies!
