Congratulations, NAEO Stanley!
It’s NAEO Stanley’s wedding day. JC Choir was invited to perform at the opening of the wedding. Two songs were sung: Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing & Jesu, joy of man’s desiring. It was a grand wedding banquet held at JW Marriott. Around 50 tables with more than 10 tables for JC, a JC function again! There were performances throughout the whole night and the highlight was the dance performance by the Stanley couple at the end. All the guests must be astonished by the hip hop dance ended with 對妳愛不完.

Entrepreneur and Continuing Education Day – members recruitment day
It’s an interesting experience to “return” to HKCEC and man a booth. This reminds me of my previous job experience. Chamber Executive PP Phyllis, VP Lucia and PM Maggie were there to help. We tried our best to introduce JCI and HKJTT to young people coming to the booth. Since we did not have printed publication this year, I prepared a printed powerpoint file to show what we had been done in the past few months. Wow, I did not realize that it became a very useful tool to draw the attention of the visitors. Some even expressed interest in joining our chapter and upcoming activities. I once again realize that I am really fond of doing selling and marketing job. Great, I choose the right profession.

NOM Professional PR Training Workshop – Series 3; R&R area meeting
I missed Series 2 due to other commitment. Heard that it was another full house function. To my surprise, there were not many people attended Series 3. The topic was “Branding for NGO – the Story of Caring Company Scheme” presented by Ms Lois Lam, Senior Manager, Sector Development & Partnership of The HK Council of Social Service (香港社會服務聯會). I did not have much expectation as branding for NGO might be dull as I always think branding must be somehow related to $$. Yet speaker Lois’ talk was lively and it was a fruitful sharing session. I learnt a lot as the P of a chapter and as a Corp Comm professional in my office.
Thanks NOM and HKIM for organizing this PR training series. How can I miss Series 4?

The above event was followed by General Admin area meeting, also at the JC office. It was a very productive meeting. Thanks to Area Advisor PP Mariana and IPP Anny. Everything was so organized and we had gone through all the outstanding items in the area. HS, you are lucky to have the most efficient and organized Area Advisor overseeing this area =)
Three cheers for Advisor: Hip, hip, hurray!

Senior Members Club gathering @ Noah’s Ark, Ma Wan
Thank you Senior Members Club for arranging this visit. Around 50 Jayceettes and friends met gathered early in the morning for visiting this new sightseeing place. I have invited my family and friends to join this Sunday outing. It’s the official opening of Noah’s Ark tomorrow while we had the chance to visit this place in advance. Many friends reminded me to tell them my experience after the trip. Though it rained heavily today, the weather did not affect our moods as we could stay indoor most of the time to enjoy the displays, play games, watch movies, etc.
It is a wonderful experience to learn and know more about the meaning of life. I have written the following words on the wall at the interactive education house:
享受生命每一刻
ENJOY LIFE
Sometimes, we’ve got too little time for ourselves and the people we love. As a JC, we may be indulged in doing projects, attending JC functions, etc. It may be a right time now for us to think how we should treat our lives better. This just echoes with the speaker Kenneth Li’s sharing yesterday: we should slow down our pace and enjoy every moment of our lives.
Noah’s Ark
The world’s only full-size replica of Noah’s Ark on the Ma Wan waterfront overlooks the magnificent Tsing Ma Bridge and features a series of life-sized sculptures of exotic animals. The Noah’s Ark is a new tourist attraction in Hong Kong, and its central theme of love of life, family and the Earth and positive values makes it a wonderful destination for family tour.

Business Professional SOS Series 2 cum May Fellowship Gathering
Theme of this series is “Feeling Good – A Lifestyle on your Wish List” (完美品味篇). Around 40 participants attended today’s seminar. Speaker Kenneth Li, Publisher of “Today’s Living” magazine, showed us how to enjoy every details, “sour”, “sweet”, “bitter”, “spicy” (酸、甜、苦、辣) of our lives. As Kenneth said, we have to slow down the pace of our lives in order to enjoy every moment. Right, sometimes HK people are just too busy to feel the wonders of life. We just keep working, but we seldom remember the objective of doing so many works. Let’s stop… and give a second thought on the ultimate goal we want to achieve so that we can enjoy a more meaningful life. Sure by that time, we will all Shine Like Rubies!

Meeting with Kenneth Li
To learn more about the speaker for the Business Professional SOS Series, I have joined the OC team to meet up with Kenneth Li. He is the publisher of “Today’s Living” magazine. Through our chitchat, we learned more about “quality life” from Kenneth. I am sure his presentation on the coming Saturday will be of so much fun. See you!

TDC Gathering
It was my first time to attend the gathering organized by the Training and Development Council. Interesting, I have listened to three baby trainers’ presentation. Looking at them, I found that it’s not an easy task to attract the attention of the audience. JC is a place providing lots of opportunities to train the trainers. It’s a matter of how you treasure these avenues. Next time, when you hear a nice presentation, please do show more appreciation to the speaker.

Thank you dinner with Ms Betty da Silva
To thank Ms Betty da Silva’s support over the past two years, IPP Anny and I invited her to join this dinner at the Hong Kong Jockey Club. During the dinner, Betty gave us a lot of invaluable comments and shared her views on how we could further develop our chapter. She even suggested some potential speakers to us for further collaboration in the upcoming months.

Shining on the Starry Night Gathering @ Wanchai Van Gogh Kitchen
I am happy that instead of putting too much focus on projects, my team is willing to spend times with the new and potential members. Tonight, we had an enjoyable dinner with Jayceettes and friends. This is not only a night for new friends to know more about JCI, but also a gathering for existing Jayceettes and Board members to mingle and exchange ideas.
The chef and staff at Van Gogh are nice. The place is cozy and well equipped. I think… we’ll be back.

1st Long Range Planning Committee meeting
Got excited to be involved in the discussion of the chapter’s future plan. We did not just talk about the potential President Candidate. 3-year action plan was one of our topics.
Time flies, I just feel turning on the “turbo” for all the projects while I have to think about the handover of presidency to my successor. Good, it’s better to get this settled as soon as possible since life is not easy to start the preparation work for the presidency late in the year. Like me, planning and execution has been working at the same time over the past few months. Various projects are soon to be launched. Thank you for your patience and hope you will enjoy our series of 40th anniversary celebration activities in the rest of the year!

I feel like a Singer~~~
What a day today as a singer!
Worship choir at church for the whole morning, then followed by JC Choir performance for the “我和我的祖國六十周年國慶活動 - 中華民族文化周” (PRC 60th anniversary celebration activites: The Chinese Nation Week)at Victoria Park. The one at the Victoria Park was harsh especially when we had to perform at an open area under the “beautiful sunshine”. All of us could not help sweating from head to toe! 辛苦大家喇.
Then, I enjoyed the main stage performance with PA Alice and IPP Anny yet I left early since I had a body massage appointment to cure my soreness after the Sports Day!

My feelings towards JC Sports Day運動會後感(敢)言
I enjoyed the function very much (it was my first time to win a medal on any of the Sportsground). It's really a precious moment for all JC members to get together on the green and feel the fresh air, especially during the current Swine Flu epidemic situation.
A bit disappointing that we had fewer members joining the Sports Day this year. Well understood, as it was also my first time to join the event after being a JC for more than 5 years. You know, I am not a sporty type of person but I don’t resist in playing sports. I like golfing, wakeboarding, hiking, swimming, etc., but I am not an expert of any of these. Of course, I was there because of my role as a President of the hosting chapter; my duty as a JC member to support JC function; my wish to cheer up the members who joined any races / competitions.
It has been more than 10 years that I’ve joined the Sports Day of this kind. I think it’s rare for a working executive / people from the commercial field to attend or even organize such a large-scale function. It is just funny to see people running if you are not joining any competition.
Come, just come next year and meet the JC buddies as well as feel the atmosphere. Sure it’s a day more than a sports function. We need your support.
Wish you all good health!

JC Sports Day 2009青商陸運擂台大擊??? – News即時新聞
Today, Hong Kong Jayceettes Junior Chamber has co-hosted the Sports Day with Island JC. The event was well received by JC members from all 19 chapters. I really have to say that Sports Day is a great event for us to meet and mingle with our friends. If you have not attended this function before, I highly recommend you to join next year’s event.
I am thrilled to announce that Jayceettes scooped a number of awards on the day. Here are the good results from the Jayceette members:
Champion : 100m run (Senior Member Cup) – Senior Member Club Chairlady Betty Chan
Champion : 1500m run (Senior Member Cup) – Cosina Chan
2nd runner up : 200m race walk (Presidential Cup) – President Jennifer Lam
2nd runner up : 4 x 100m relay – Vice President Lucia Wong, Vice President Winnie Tsang, Honorary Treasurer Fanny Ng, Prospective Member Vincy Wong
2nd runner up : 1500m run – External Affairs Officer Flora Fu
Thanks also goes to our Member Carlene Chan who has joined the 1500m run.
Congratulations! Thank you for those who have participated in the event and supported the athletes on the spot.
Special for this year, I had the chance to welcome the group of youth from Ningxia (寜廈代表團) and Guangxi (廣西代表團) joining our group games. Jayceettes were invited to join another 4 x 100m relay competition with these young people. Of course, we were lost at the end, yet we were proud of ourselves as most of the runners were males in this race and we were not the last one to complete the run!!!
