City Lady JC AGM

2nd AGM this year. First time to attend City Lady’s function. When I reached there after my own chapter’s training, I could only witness the election results. Someone may ask why I have to rush from here to there. I would say it’s because of JC. It’s busy and tiring, sometimes very frustrating to attend so many functions, yet I have to stay positive. I do enjoy every moment when I attend other chapters’ events since I can learn from every single details that I can see. Being a PR professional, I just like to observe and experience what others do. So, I will try my best to enjoy and attend JC functions in the rest of this year.

2010 Board of Directors Training @ 紙藝軒

When I looked at the new Board of Directors candidates, I found that time really knows how to fly. The upcoming Board of Directors candidates are green but they all have enthusiasm. After a year of re-establishing the foundation, we have started to gather a group of young and passionate ladies to work for the betterment of the Chapter. Number of active members is increasing. Let’s keep our spirit up. No matter it’s “Shine Like Rubies” or “Light your Passion; Pursue the Excellence”, we deliver the best of ourselves to JC and live the best of our lives.

IJC AGM

1st AGM this year. Glad to enjoy an AGM at Jockey Club, a very nice environment. Happy to meet so many JC friends. It’s a chance for me to chitchat and mingle with them. When I saw classmate Michael being appreciated by his Board of Directors and JC members, I felt so touching as I knew how hard he had tried to work for the best for his chapter.

My sister – the new member Lilian, went there with me. Strange experience that now Lilian can join me for JC events. Over these days, we have more chances to talk and discuss about JC as well as ways for improvement. We are just like working in the same company. Now, we not only talk about family matters, but also discuss about JC things at home.

HKJTT’s AGM will be held on 19 September, still a lot of things to be prepared!

HK Federation of Women PRC 60th celebration Gala Dinner

As a PR professional, I like attending functions, especially large scale ones. Maybe I’m really a party animal. I like to see how other people organizing events. Each experience is a good learning opportunity to me.

It’s a grand party tonight. Over 120 tables for the Gala Dinner celebrating PRC’s 60th anniversary. IPP Anny, NCDD/PC Kathy, VP Winnie and myself attended the event. BJC P and members were there. There were so many prominent guests attending as well. Those famous ladies that you could name were there, including 董鮑笑微, 范徐麗泰, 梁愛詩, 葉劉淑儀, 李麗娟, 林貝聿嘉, 何超瓊, 周梁淑怡, etc. PP Connia was in charge of the event. She introduced us to many VIPs.

Looking at this big event, we learned a lot on event management. We all realized that we should not confine ourselves at JC; we should open up ourselves and learn from others.

Yes, I am silly… some sharings

This is a year filled with excitement and challenges. Though a lot of time has been spent on JC, I think I have gained a lot of experience and learned a lot of things. This morning, I did something funny and silly to some of my members. No matter what, I just want my members to stay happy. We are all here for community services and we learn to be leaders here. We all work for the betterment of the society. The most important thing is to be positive. JC is definitely adding colors to our lives, don’t let it create burdens to ourselves… here ends my sharing!

August Fellowship Gathering – A Dinner Gathering for YOU

A very warm gathering for Jayceettes. Around 20 young ladies joining the dinner at a cozy restaurant Zambra in Wanchai. Though the atmosphere was very relaxed, we went through all the JC procedures. JC Creed, Recognition, P Welcome Speech, Board Report, Round table Introduction of Members and Guests, Dinner… We did not have any speakers for the night, this allowed us to have more mingling time. This also allowed us to know each other better.

We welcomed two new friends to join our gathering and everyone enjoyed the gathering very much. We celebrated the August birthday stars before we closed the event.

If you have missed the event, please check with those who attended the dinner gathering. If you were there, hope you would spare your time with us again. Next gathering is AGM at Regal Hong Kong on 19 September. See you!

I am very tired…

Bid book bid book bid book… endless nights with bid book. I nearly want to give up. Thanks my family for keeping me motivated. Though my mother could help me do the bid book, she encouraged me try my best. She said if I had to believe I was outstanding in bidding the award, so that I had the drive to write it. In fact, at this stage, you won’t believe it, it’s only 10% done.

At this time, I also need to settle the little problems arising from next year board’s preparation. Challenges again, how can I finish so many things at a time? This has been the biggest lesson I keep learning this year. Nevertheless, I believe, things will work out by themselves. Nothing more should be worried of. Yes, stay calm and keep writing bid book!

<有話.直說>工作坊 / PJC Anniversary Celebration Banquet

It’s been a long while I haven’t enjoyed a seminar like this. Patrick Dunn and Derek Li are great speakers. They really drew attention from the audience. Around 100 participants on the floor did enjoy the sharing from the star speakers. They were humorous and they had a lot of interactions with the audience. Catherine Chai, an ex-Jayceette member, was the third speaker who taught us how to achieve our goals through exercises of acknowledging our “self”.

Many NOM Officers and LOM Presidents came and supported this event. Before this event started, I went to visit LRJC’s function upstairs.

An unexpected guest came to say hello to me. He is William Lam (林柏希) from Metro Radio. I’ve called him twice earlier, NP Ken knew that so he invited William to come down from LRJC’s event and met me. Great, then I knew him and hopefully could further discussed with William on media exposure issue.

After a great event, a few of us headed to PJC’s anniversary celebration dinner at Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel. We then went into the washroom for make-up, changing. Happy thing was our “honorary photographer” Joseph initiated to follow us to the hotel and take pictures for us.

Can you imagine, we have a total of 19 Jayceettes attending this event: HLP Jennifer, my PA Alice, PP Nora, PP Margaret, PP Anita, PP Jeritza, PP Eva, IPP Anny, NHT Carina, NCDD Kathy, SM Winnie Wong and SM Angela, VP Winnie, VP Joanne, HS Betty, HT Fanny, Director Winnie, Director Vanessa, Chairman Lisa, PM Lilian and mysef. It’s like a pre-show of our anniversary!

First interview of my life!

Thanks MC Project Team for pitching the interview. I did arrange a lot of interviews for my bosses and clients in the past but this was my first time to visit ATV and the very first time to be interviewed.

I went there with winner Gary and first runner up Desmond of the HK Master of Ceremony Competition. Vice President Winnie and Prospective Member Lilian went there with us. Everything's ready. We took pictures around and the staff there showed us to the "make up" room to do the "final touch" on our hair and face!

The TV recording started a bit late as the previous recording on cooking was still running. I took this chance to memorize the things that I had to say. A bit nervous really. The recording was running smooth and the two winners performed brilliantly in front of the camera. WELL DONE!

It was a good experience for all of us. The interview will be shown on ATV at the show 男人做晒, 2.05pm on 15 September (to be confirmed). Please stay tuned!
