Joint Directors' Meeting
It is always a challenge for us to meet the full board attendance at JC function while this time, I feel so glad that most of my board members attended the meeting. If this is not the passion towards JC, what would it be? A fruitful afternoon with different sharing sessions according to job duties. I, of course, attended the one with other P classmates. National President Ken raised a lot of questions and he asked our opinions. We discussed quite a number of important issues during the 1.5 hour meeting. It’s just like a leaders’ forum in which we get together to talk about the future of JCI. Very good, I could really feel the heart and passion of these “leaders”. I am so glad to be a “classmate” of these young friends. Oh, only 6 more months to go…

City Junior Chamber 28th anniversary @ W Hotel
I always wanted to go to W Hotel and this is the chance. Besides meeting up with a lot of familiar JC faces tonight, it’s my mission to go and enjoy an evening at this new hip hotel – W. Food was nice, decorations were so and so. Room setting and services…… not acceptable. Maybe I am a very traditional person, I really think waiters should look more mature and be more well-manner. I felt surprised that the staff there were like kids who really did not know how to serve the customers. Sorry, as a Corporate Communications professional, I have a “critical” mind to the details at every event. However, I enjoyed the night very much with my Honorary Secretary Betty. Good to meet up with many JC friends who came to chat with us. At the end, it’s again our “tradition” to stay until the very end of the event; we were almost being “expelled” by the hotel staff!

What a small world!
I finally started to do something that a President should, expanding the social network. Through my beloved Past President Florence, I was introduced to some new “friends”. These “friends” are very nice and yet I don’t know whether they will support our chapter at the end, I feel great to meet up with these people. It’s also a good training for me to talk and introduce HKJTT to the new “friends”, and it’s very satisfying when you found these people recognized JCI mission or even the projects we are doing. PP Florence and I were invited to enjoy a nice vietnamese dinner at a cozy restaurant at Tai Hang. Interestingly, I found that one of the new acquaintances had joined my company function last year. What a small world!

Reunion gathering for ASPAC Hong Kong delegates (SKIPPED)
Too tied up with work in the office and at the end, I did not join the gathering. Right, I’ve been attending too many functions lately. It’s time for me to stop for a while and focus more on my own chapter’s issues. “Too many things, but too little time” is the major problem I am always encountering. Time management and setting priorities are areas that require a lot of wisdom for one to learn, especially for a person like me who cannot stop broadening my life. Let’s work hard and enjoy the beauty of a fruitful life!

Gathering with 2006 Board of Directors
A tiring day with a lot of blessings. Fellowship is always something that I treasure at JC. It’s great to meet up with the 2006 Board members. We’ve all waited for a long time because it’s so difficult to get a date to fit everybody’s schedule. Thus, though I was exhausted after a day’s work, I did join the dinner. During the dinner, it’s unavoidable that we talked about JC. Very interesting to see that we still concern the development of our chapter very much. This gives me great motivation to carry on my presidency this year. The most amazing thing was to have Gigi, our ex-member, offering helps to me as she knew that we must be very busy these days. I felt so warm and touched, and realized that there’s nothing I should be worried. Just keep moving on and things will run smoothly when the time comes. A year to “Shine Like Rubies” isn’t a dream only!

Business Professional SOS Series III cum June Fellowship Gathering
I have invited Stephen Wong (黃元山) to be the speaker for this Doing Good (個人昇華篇) series. I am very grateful to have his help as his background and experience really fits our topic. I am impressed by his story and what he has been doing over the past years. 黃元山, thank you very much. The seminar attracted around 50 people to join. Many people were surprised when they learnt that Stephen was young to make such a successful achievement at his career. National President Ken Wong, NEVP Gene and NEVP Benny came and supported us. This is the end of the Series. I truly hope that we all equipped ourselves with a certain skills from “looking good”, “feeling good” and “doing good” yet we have to enrich our lives through continuous learning, thus creating a better world.

NOM Professional PR Training Workshop – Series 4
It’s about crisis management for the SME. Interesting speaker who also presented his insights on the current problems of HK education system. Upon the completion of this seminar, some Jayceettes, including myself, were awarded the certificates for over 75% attendance. Personally, I found the knowledge and information shared by each speaker were very useful. Not only because I am a PR executive, but also because I am a JC. As a JC, I feel the responsibility to let more people know our mission and vision: to create a better world. In this case, proper or stimulative PR / marketing skills are important.

UNMDG “The Millennium Dream Project” Kick-off Ceremony
I took a half day off for some personal matters, then I went to Times Squre at 1600 for the kick off ceremony cum exhibition for the UNMDG “The Millennium Dream Project” (千禧夢工程). Director Vanessa could join me for a while as she worked upstairs. Interesting to see so many NOM officers and LOM Presidents there in the afternoon of a normal working day. No one can really challenge the passion and team spirit of JC members. I’m proud to be one of them. I then invited NAEO to join me for the meeting with Stephen Wong, speaker of the Business Professional SOS Series 3.

6th Board Meeting
It’s June, the 6th Board Meeting already. Team, keep the spirit up, we have 6 more months to go. Also, a good news for every one of us in HKJTT. I have found my potential successor!
The meeting was then followed by birthday celebration for June birthday star. Afterwards, I stayed there to have another meeting with a few past presidents and my “potential successor” about our upcoming plans. Fruitful sharing was made even though we ended our discussion late at the JC office. Exhausted but very happy now.

July Fellowship Gathering first OC meeting @ California Tower
Run by a whole team of new members yet I could feel that passion from each of them. Everyone is excited to organize a function especially to have Ricky Wong (王維基) as the speaker this time. Sometimes, it just cannot be planned so perfectly beforehand. Just do our best and leave the rest to God!

Dinner with Han Shu Xia, Director General, Youth Department, Liaison Office of PRC in HKSAR
First day to work. My mind is still filled up with JC stuff. I left office on time to rush for the dinner with Han Shu Xia, Director General, Youth Department, Liaison Office of PRC in HKSAR (駐港中聯辦青年工作部部長韓淑霞). Again, without any printed publication issued this year, I could only show the colour powerpoint file to Han. I did not expect that this would again impress the Director General so much. She was very interested in turning over each page to view our activity pictures. Right, a picture tells more than words.
It’s a nice dinner at 華商會 and I am glad that I was there. I then went for drinks with some of my classmates near Wynham Street.

Back to Hong Kong
Finally, I come back to Hong Kong after a whole day journey by coach at 10 o’clock, then plane at 6 o’clock and taxi at 11 o’clock. Luggage overloaded seriously, but I have to confess that I got a lot of shopping orders from my friends. Friends, you know that I nearly could not get on to the plane, hahaha
Fortunately, I’ve taken a day off tomorrow. So tired…

Pre-ASPAC trip (2) Karuizawa輕井澤!!!
Though there was only one day left before attending ASPAC, I insisted to get away from the city and enjoyed a day at the suburban area. This is my first time to travel totally on my own. I don’t know where I have the guts to do this as I don’t speak Japanese and I just booked the hotel the day before. It’s just like an adventure to me.
This Hoshinoya Hotel at Karuizawa is such a fabulous place. I would highly recommend people to hold their wedding ceremony here or to come and enjoy their honeymoon. This is a super place for retreat and relaxation. No TV in the room, and no mobile phone network inhouse. Food is expensive yet I am touched by how beautiful the scenery is and how I am treated as a VIP here. Hotspring experience is very special…
Can you imagine that I am now staying in a big house by myself? I’m speechless here. Just want to enjoy everything here quietly. I will come back again for sure!!!

Pre-ASPAC trip (1) Tokyo!!!
I was going to Tokyo by myself to start this Japan holiday before ASPAC. VP Winnie and VP Joanne were staying at the same hostel 民宿 and I had the chance to join them for a teppanyaki (鐵板燒) dinner with their Japanese friend.
Going back to the hostel and feeling really exhausted. Yet, I still took the chance to check JC emails before going to bed.
